The largest ship ever to offer cruise vacations from the West Coast arrived into Los Angeles today. At 1,020 feet long and 142,000 gross registered tons, Royal Caribbean International’s Mariner of the Seas will sail year-round from the Port of Los Angeles offering a seven-night Mexican Riviera itinerary with ports of call at Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan, Mexico. Royal Caribbean Cruises Earnings Tumble 98 Percent

NEW YORK —  Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. said Thursday that fourth-quarter earnings tumbled 98 percent, missing Wall Street's expectations and reflecting a sharp drop in cruise bookings, higher-than-expected fuel costs and unfavorable foreign exchange rates.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31, net income fell to $1.4 million, or 1 cent per share, from $70.8 million, or 33 cents per share, a year ago.

Worlds Largest Cruise Ship

Ok, I said cruise ship, but it's really more like a floating city! I'm talking about Royal Caribbeans new ship "Oasis of the Seas", which is currently being built in Finland. This ship is amazing. It got 'beach pool', shopping mall, rock-climbing walls, outdoor ampitheatre, and New York-style loft suites. Oh, I forgot to mention "Central Park", which is an outdoor park like area.
