Are there ATM machines on the ships or should we bring cash for the ports?

I always bring some cash for tips and shopping. I have never really noticed any ATM's on board, but I would assume they are there.

I can't answer for all ships and all cruise lines but I can say with absolute certainty that there *is* an ATM on the Caribbean Princess.

there are many on the explorer and come to think of it all the ships i have been on. however, a lot of times they were out of order. maybe satellite signal. you can get cash off your seapass card at the casino for a 3% charge if the machines aren't working.
