This photo is the woods in the back of our house. This ice storms was devastating to this area causing major power outages. 70% of the homes in our city lost power from a half a day to up to a week. We were lucky as we only lost ours for 26 hours. Our oldest daughter, who lives 6 miles from us, lost theirs for 4 days. As of today there is still some communities 40 miles south of us in Kentucky without power.
Kentucky officials have attributed 33 deaths to the Jan. 27 stormthat blanketed the region with ice and snow. About 769,000 customerslost power at its peak, and almost 50,000 are still without power.
Some101 counties and 75 cities have declared states of emergency, andPresident Barack Obama has issued a major disaster declaration for thestate.
I hope you two are ok!

We are just fine. We may have lost a few shrubs and small trees from the ice. We had this house built in 2007 and the landscaping is new. We will just have to wait until spring to see how they are.
