Ha Texas Pepper, a real challenge, these questions....
Although I am a rookie at cruising - as you may have gathered by now - I still have some ideas on your questions, so I will give them a go!!
When you cruise again what would you do different?
* Pack different? I would pack less; you always bring too much and I am not an exception to that...
* Plan different? Plan what different exactly? Before and after the cruise, maybe? If you cruise in another part of the world you MUST arrive earlier in order not to miss the ship...
* Pick a different stateroom? Now for us that would be a matter of money, so we will have to pick an inside cabin all the time; rather that and more cruises than a grand stateroom and less cruises ;)
* Pick a different dinning room time? Absolutely not! We like the second diner time, breaks the evening... and then the show after that...
* Choose a different sailing itinerary? I am not sure what you mean by that. Once you pick a cruise, you are stuck with the itinerary, aren't you? You cannot go to the captain and give him some suggestions on how you would like it!
* Spend less on ????? on things you can buy onboard, I guess. Like clothes: look nice, never wear them afterwards.
* Spend less on photos? With all the digital stuff there is hardly any spending at all anymore. So no need to cut down on photos
* Drink less? Aye, ouch... that could be a great plan, but not during my vacation, please...
* Eat less? I never eat much, so no cutting down necessary...
* Book a cruise longer than the last one? I wish I wish... We had two 11 or 12 days cruises... could have lasted a week longer as far as I am concerned (not looking into my wallet, while I write this)
* Do more or less in port excursions? We used the time on land both times as well as possible. there is no point hanging around in a burger joint when you can go and discover other places and cultures.
* Stay on board the ship at some ports? I would only stay on board in the ports of a country I don't like for one reason or another (mostly political reasons) but that are in the itinerary nevertheless... You cannot cut out your 100 % personal cruise, alas!
