Hi everyone;  well we being myself and wife are new to cruising but are hooked.  We took a Caribbean cruise last January and loved it .  In August we are off on a 5 day to Canada can't wait.
Okay I'm an old geezer but still working. I drive a school bus for Head Start.  I like to bake and BBQ.  Live outside Syracuse NY.

Well a big welcome to the board and the great world of Cruises.  So one down and one more cruise coming up.  What ship did you cruise to the Caribbean?  What ship to Canada?

I'll go with the BBQ fun.  Do a lot of BBQ here in Fort Worth, TX.  Just got me a Brinkmann Gourmet Charcoal Smoker/Grill.  Love it.  Have done brisket, pork roasts and next is chicken.  Keep the grill hot and enjoy the cruise board.

Another welcome aboard from us! I guess you could say I'm another old working old geezer. Rita is retired. My retirement has been delayed until maybe never!

We also like to BBQ, or should I say we like to eat BBQ!

Welcome Busdriver...

I am also pretty new to cruising. Did it twice. My husband and I were completely hooked after the first one. Problem: we also like to do other things on vacation, so too little time and too little money.

My husband loooooves to BBQ, I hate it, actually. Too much trouble, if you ask me. with a risk of burnt meat, as it is always ("always") just ready when you are sitting down comfortably, and sipping your glass of wine (looooove wine, both of us!)

Have fun onboard of this forum. You can learn a lot from the oldtimers (metaphorically spoken) who sailed the world a dozen of times. We rookies can pick up a lot of hints, tips and good advice!

Hi! Welcome to the best way to vacation!! We are new to the site but not new to cruising. We've been on 10 and have the 11th coming up in November. We basically work to vacation. :-) We take other types of vacations but always say that a cruise is a much better vacation and love it. We just took one out of NY over July 4th, got back and booked the next one.

Going on Carnival Dream and looking forward to it.

Love to BBQ!! Got a grill (per my request) from my hubby for our anniversary and LOVE it. :-)

Welcome to uCruiser.com! I hope you'll enjoy it here..
Which cruise line are you going to Canada with?

I'm a BBQ/smoking guy as well. As a matter of facts I am smoking baby back ribs right now. That stuff is just as addicting as cruising
I'm using an Old Smokey like this. It's electric with thermostat and after a few modifications very easy and convenient to use with a great result.

Well since we have brought of the subject of Grilling and Smoking
but hey the Web Admin ucruiser is on board with us on BBQ.  An Old Smokey(make in Houston, TX. . used one for 4 or 5 years. . .have to replace it every couple of years as it burns out. .mine was charcoal.  I replaced it a couple of weeks ago with a Brinkmann Gourmet Charcoal cause I could not justify paying $200 for the one I wanted at Costco  . .Napoleon Apollo 3-in-1 Smoker.  Last Monday, Costco reduced the price to $99.00 WOW! Rushed over and bought it.  What a smoker and smoking deal. Everyone else sells them for $365 and up.  Smoked baby back ribs, two whole chickens with no effort.  Just "set it and forget it" until the time is up.

FYI.....I started a new topic in "Off Topic" forum for Grilling, Smoking and BBQ.  Come on over to this post and lets talk "Good Old Texas BBQ"  You know that Texas has more BBQ joints per capita of people than any other state.  Texas, BBQ Capitol!  Just had to add this.

You guys... using an electric grill!! Where is your sense of BBQ-ing?? And all the prehistoric feelings that are connecting with that?

Blowing softly some air on the almost dying charcoals yourself, watching the coals coming alive again... poking around in them coals and hear the fat sizzling on them! The smell of coals and herbs, giving that special taste to the meat that is not marinated...  Oops, I almost sound as if I actually LIKE BBQ-ing!!!

Well, in a way I don't mind, but here in the Netherlands there is always so much drama around a BBQ... salads, sauces, baguettes, the whole works... and it just has to be a wonderful BBQ-evening as well, and that I don't like either...

Furthermore I agree with TP... let's move to the section he created and talk some more BBQ and smoking - what the **** is that??? I know smokes meat and fish of course, but I buy them....
