Shopping around is always a good strategy. However...
Finding a good travel agent and staying with them is a good thing too.
They get to know you and what you like and they will watch for really good sales that they hear about long before they go public. There is a lot to be said for custom.
We've had the same travel agent since 2005. She's taken very good care of us and we wouldn't think of booking elsewhere. I research the cruise prices first and so far, she has always been able to do better.
A strategy to consider.

We have used VTG for our 3 cruises. We love our agent. She is always able to find us upgrades and discounts. I have looked at other cruise sites and just always come back to vacations to go !!!!
