The M.S. Carnival Victory
This was our first cruise. We didn't know anything about cruising except what a couple for friends said.
We had a wonderful time, the M.S. Victory was one of the best ships that we've ever been on. It was such a great ship & crew that we booked another cruise and brought along some friends.
How did I book?:
We have a great travel agent, Black Diamont Travel.
Did I get a good price?:
We always receive a military, AAA or prior cruisers discount.
How was my trip to the port?:
Wonderful, we used Delta airlines.
Embarkation/Debarkation:
We had a little bit of a wait, port of Miami, of course that port is one of the buisyest.
Debarkation was a joke, It was raining so hard in Miami that the customs agent wasn't even watching or checking on everyone, she just said to place our customs form in a box. This was prior to 9/11.
The ship:
This is one of the best ships in the carnival fleet, so good we booked another cruise & brought some friends.
Cabin:
Like I stated before, we didn't know anything, and when we arrived at the Miami Carnival port to check-in. They asked us if we wanted an up-grade, (we already had an assinged oceanview cabin). we thought that they were giving us a much better cabin. Well they gave us an oceanview room, but it was in the stern of the ship, on the riveria deck. Don't get me wrong, it was a very nice cabin, but a bit bumpy,(propeller noise & anchor / line handling noise). The cabin was very nice otherwise.
Dining:
We were assinge to the aft "Pacific Dinning" room. The food was outstanding.
The buffet was also great!
Entertainment:
This was our first cruise, we were very happy.
Ports & Excursions:
We went to San Juan, Pureto Rico, and didn't book any tours at this port, (big mistake). We wandered around the edge of town, not knowing where to go. St. Criox and St. Thomas, we had booked 2 tours on each island, (too much touring & not enough tome to shop).
Overall Experience:
