We just needed to get away for Thanksgiving in 2008 and what better way to do than a short weekend cruise.
How did I book?:
Directly with Carnival, with a great PVP I might add.
Did I get a good price?:
Yes, and even received an OBC.
How was my trip to the port?:
We live here in Florida about 2 hours away. The trip was awesome.
Embarkation/Debarkation:
Embarkation was a breeze, we were at the port by 11:30 and on the ship by 12:15. Debarkation was just as great, we were out of our cabin by 8 and off the ship by 9. Stopped and had breakfast and were home by 11:30am.
The ship:
I was a little hesitant about the Sensation because there were not many reviews, good or bad, about her. All I ever heard was that she was an old ship and had very tacky decor. Ha, to my surprise I loved her and the purple decor. Sometimes old ships are good ships. This was also the 1st time we sailed with Carnival. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Can't wait till she comes back refurbished!!
Cabin:
Cabin was just what I expected, so I was not disappointed. Just wish they didn't broadcast news and such from Colorado, lol.
Dining:
We chose not to eat in the dining room. It was a very laid back vacation, so we just stuck with the buffet, which we found to be just what we wanted.
Entertainment:
What we did see we enjoyed. We're not people to sit still too long.
Ports & Excursions:
This was our 3rd trip to Nassau, so we let everyone else off the ship and hung out by the pool. Then went into Nassau a little later and just strolled a bit.
Overall Experience:
The weather was beautiful, a little cool for sailaway, but a few frozen cocktails seemed to chase off the chill. The seas were so calm and it was very warm in Nassau and for our sea day.
