Need Tips for Ireland Trip

My children and I have been planning a trip to Ireland for a long time. Our family heritage is Irish, and we all play Irish music. That will make the trip all that much more enjoyable to us. I think it's good to choose locations with some meaning.

We have saved some of the money and we all continue to save our pennies with this trip in mind. We are at the point that we can start thinking about costs within the next couple of years. Does anyone have tips that will make our planning easier? Any places we should be sure to see? Any pitfalls we should avoid? Thanks!
