Everyone asks and wonders what exactly is there for a teenagers to do on a cruise ship. Teenagers are too old for the little kid fun but too young to go in the nightclubs. Well I've sailed with both Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and I am a teenager. Both actually had a cool club for teenagers. On Royal Carribean, it was a little small but they had 3 flatscreen tv's, guitar hero, dancing, and a ping-pong table. Carnival's teen club was REALLY great. It's called Club O2 (they have one on every Carnival ship). On the Carnival Glory, the club had a monopoly theme and they had blacklights and lots of neon so it glowed. They had a director for the club who watched the kids and organized activities. Our director was a professional dancer so he taught everyone a really cool hip-hop dance. The club also had a Wii and a playstation 2, so we could play guitar hero and all sorts of games. Royal Caribbean had a curfew for 12 which was lame because we finished dinner at maybe 9:30/10:00 and went to the show immediatly after and we finall got out around 11:00/11:30. This left very little time to have fun. Carnival didn't have a curfew, so I really prefered it. There was always crew around, so it's not like we were unsupervised. Plus, Carnival had an arcade with tons of games and anyone could go in there and play games at any time. It was awesome. I'd say I definitly liked Carnival better, but I do have to factor in the fact that my Royal Caribbean cruise was only 3 days while my Carnival cruise was 7. Maybe a Royal Caribbean 7 day cruise would be better. Hopefully I'll find out some time soon =]
My sons just got off the Monarch of the seas.. and the curfew on RCL is that if you are 17 and under it was 2am unless you are with your parents or the teenclubs cansulars. The seem to think it was better then Carnival which we took them on when they were 16 and they are 17 now and will be 18 in Aug. Just going by what they have said about the teen club.
